The Education Minister has approved closure of the existing Enhancing Digital Resilience in Education action plan and instructed officials to scope a new online safety programme.
Why it matters: Online exploitation, harmful content, cyberbullying and emerging AI-related risks are increasingly important safeguarding issues.
The new programme’s funding, responsibilities and timetable have not yet been announced.
