TaithCymru officially launches today, providing a direct public transport connection between Bangor and Carmarthen via Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth and Aberaeron.
Although the service will normally offer ten regular journeys a day from Monday to Saturday, a limited timetable applies today, its launch day.
Introductory fares start at £4, with Bangor–Carmarthen journeys costing £10. All journeys must be booked in advance, at least 15 minutes before departure.
Why it matters: The launch represents a practical improvement to public transport connections across western Wales. The longer-term questions concern passenger numbers, operating subsidies, accessibility and connections with local services.
