The Welsh Government has announced the launch of TaithCymru, a new express coach service connecting Bangor and Carmarthen from Sunday 25 October.

The route will serve Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth and Aberaeron, with a late-night connection to Holyhead.
The Government says journey times will be reduced by more than an hour.
Why it matters: Poor north–south public transport connections have long been a barrier to employment, education, healthcare and tourism in rural Wales.
There are important accessibility limitations: coaches have one wheelchair space, onboard toilets are not accessible, and Aberaeron is not currently an accessible stop. Passengers must book in advance.
The introductory £10 Bangor–Carmarthen fare is due to rise to £14 in January 2027.
