At Castle Hill near St Fagans, emergency services considered the possibility of evacuating residents at around 4:20am on Sunday. River levels did not reach the threshold requiring evacuation.
At Ely Bridge, the council confirmed that one property suffered internal flooding and three others experienced garden flooding. The road reopened late on Sunday morning. Some other roads remained closed on Monday because of fallen trees.
Why it matters: These figures provide an initial measure of the demands placed on local authority services. They also offer a basis for investigating emergency response costs, drainage capacity and the resilience of vulnerable roads and communities.
