Flintshire County Council confirms that funded childcare for eligible two-year-olds becomes available across the county from today under the Flying Start expansion.
Eligible children can receive up to 12.5 hours of funded childcare each week during term time, through registered providers.
Families must apply and provide proof of residency and their child’s date of birth. Eligibility depends on the child’s age and postcode.
Why it matters: Funded childcare can reduce costs for families, support parents returning to employment and improve access to early-years learning.
Status: Expansion begins today. It is not a universal entitlement for every two-year-old in Flintshire; families must meet the eligibility requirements.
