Meet the Talking Wales team
Huw Marshall - Director and Founder
Huw Marshall is the former head of digital at S4C. He has in-depth knowledge of the UK and Welsh media landscapes and, over the past five years, has developed a comprehensive understanding of the news industry in Wales. He has a network of connections within the traditional media industry and the emerging technologies sector.
He helped launch The National Wales on March 1st 2021, following over 2 years of development through New Media Wales, with financial support from individuals via Patreon.
In January 2024, Huw joined the University of Lancaster’s prestigious Journalism Innovation & Leadership programme, studying for a Postgraduate Certificate and developing new skills and insights in public interest news, innovation, and community development. In January 2025, he continued with the programme studying at the Master’s level.

Kaiesha Page - Editor & Political Contributor
Kaiesha Page is the Editor and a Political Contributor at Talking Wales, bringing together a background in research, political activism, and media commentary. Active within political movements between 2012 and 2020, Kaiesha has worked across grassroots organising, policy-focused research, and political communications, developing a strong understanding of how power, governance, and public narratives intersect in Wales and beyond.
Alongside her political work, Kaiesha is a true crime podcaster and researcher, known for her ability to analyse complex cases with clarity, empathy, and rigour. Her work in podcasting has sharpened her investigative skills, editorial judgement, and storytelling ability—strengths she now applies to political reporting and commentary.
By combining her experience in activism, research, and long-form narrative media, Kaiesha aims to help drive Talking Wales forward as a thoughtful, accessible, and challenging platform for Welsh political discourse.

Laura Butler - Multimedia Journalist
Laura Butler is a freelance multimedia journalist supporting Talking Wales’ podcast production, newsletters and social media. She uses her news judgement and understanding of media law to aid impartial, informative coverage of Welsh current affairs.
Alongside her work, she studies MA News Journalism at Cardiff University, working towards her NCTJ journalism qualification.
With this training, Laura wants to create accessible and engaging news content for all. Aiming to increase the amount of young people engaging with Welsh News and current affairs ahead of the upcoming elections.
